“The purpose of the Bowdoin Women’s Association is to (1) promote awareness and education about gender issues in our community through coalition building and BWA programs which include speakers, performance artists, and other events; (2) to provide a safe, comfortable environment to create dialogue about gender issues and build community through awareness among faculty, staff, and students of Bowdoin College; and (3) to be active by identifying and addressing issues of gender in our community in order to make Bowdoin a healthy and supportive environment for all of its members. BWA provides a welcoming space where individuals can come together in community and find supportive, open minds dedicated to and passionate about issues of gender on campus.” -BWA Mission Statement
